Swim Away the Wintertime Blues
For the ninth year in a row, Hollywood Beach celebrates Groundhog Day on February 2nd as only we can – at the beach! Come join legions of other warm weather optimists for a morning swim in honor of “America’s 2nd Favorite Holiday,” and you’ll have another reason to believe everything’s better in Florida. Starting at 6:30am, your $12 donation includes breakfast and a souvenir T-shirt if you jump in the water with everyone else at 7:30am.
It’s More Fun to Watch…
If taking a morning dip in the 73-degree Atlantic Ocean doesn’t sound like fun, nothing’s better than watching others do it! There will be a live hookup to Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania for the official groundhog forecast, a rambunctious 6-foot groundhog master of ceremonies, face painting, games, and a Draw the Groundhog Contest. All Proceeds benefit the Hollywood Beach Business Association Charity Fund. And of course, Bill Murray is invited! He didn’t make it to the last 8, but we have a feeling this is his year!
